The Foreign Aid Short-term Training Program of Ministry of Commerce “Vietnam Infrastructure Planning and Construction Training Course” Was Successfully Concluded

From October 9 to 29, 2023, the 21-day training programme “Vietnam Infrastructure Planning and Construction Training Course” came to a successful end. This project was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, hosted by Beijing Jiaotong University and implemented by the College of International Education.
Opening Ceremony:
On the morning of October 9th, 2023, the opening ceremony was held in Science and Technology Building, and Vice Chancellor Jing Tao attended to deliver a speech. He expressed his warm welcome to the officials who participated in this project and emphasized the long history of educational cooperation between BJTU and Vietnam. Vice Chancellor Jing Tao also expressed his sincere hope that this training program would expand the educational and scientific research cooperation in the field of infrastructure.
Training Content:
This program consisted of 15 lectures and exchanges, 15 study tours and on-site teaching, and 5 cultural experiences. In Beijing, CIE invited professors from China Academy of Railway Science, Civil Engineering College, Transportation College and so on to give lectures. This training project adopted the combination of theory and practice so that they went to the equipment manufacturing base of China Railway 14th Bureau, the track laboratory and the wind tunnel laboratory to internalize the knowledge into the practice.
From October 15th to 22nd, training members went to Shanghai and Kunming to carry out the 8-day internship practice. In Shanghai, the participants visited Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall and Shanghai Telecommunication Information Life Hall to learn about development trends and prospects of telecommunication technology in China. In Kunming, they visited three vocational colleges to learn about China’s infrastructure talents training model.
CIE also led the training course delegation to visit the Juyongguan Great Wall, Qianmen Street in Beijing, Nanjing Road and the Bund in Shanghai, Kunming Stone Forest. The collision and intertwining of culture between different cities demonstrated the openness, diversity and inclusiveness of Chinese culture.
Completion Ceremony:
On the afternoon of October 27th, the completion ceremony was held in Science and Technology Building. Dean Yao Enjian of CIE attended to deliver a speech. He retrospected the professional knowledge and cultural exchanges involved in this training. He sincerely hoped that participants could bring the knowledge and cultural experience back to Vietnam to increase educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Vietnam. Meanwhile, Wang Guangxing, the Director of the Department of Transportation in Ho Chi Minh City, sincerely thanked the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and BJTU.
