On the afternoon of October 16, 2023, the opening ceremony of the Foreign Aid Academic Degree Program of the Ministry of Commerce was held in the Mechanical Building, with Vice President Jing Tao of BJTU attending and delivering a speech.

Jing Tao introduced the basic situation of the university, the characteristics of the disciplines and the educational achievements of BJTU. He hoped that students would not only study their professional knowledge seriously, but also get familiar with China’s history, geography, society, economy and other national conditions. As thus, international students could deepen their understanding of China’s development practices and serve as bridges for exchanges and mutual learning between China and the world.

Liu Yingqi, the teacher representative, hoped that students would not only learn professional knowledge during their school years, but also learn from the people around them. Students should remember the school’s motto of “To Know & To Do” and actively practice the knowledge they have learned. She encouraged everyone to take the initiative to experience the Chinese language and culture and bring it back to their own countries.

MOAWEYA MOHAMMAD ABED ALFATAH ALHYARI, a doctoral student in business administration from Jordan, said in his speech that the current study opportunity was like a bridge for all students to understand Chinese culture and communicate with students from different countries, thus promoting exchanges between countries.

NAMBELE BERTHA NUUTANA, a master degree student in urban and rural planning from Namibia, said in her speech that China’s profound history and culture were marvelous and studying in BJTU would be a process of learning and growing with students from different cultural backgrounds.
