• 1. A non-Chinese citizen holding an ordinary foreign passport who is in good physical and mental health

  Note: according to the regulations of the Chinese Ministry of Education, China (mainland), Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan residents in immigration as a destination for foreign students in China after foreign applicants must hold a valid passport or foreign nationality proved more than 4 years (including), and the last 4 years (as of May 1, 2021) within the practical living abroad more than 2 years (actual living abroad full 1 year 9 months can be calculated at 1 year, will be subject to entry and exit stamps).

• 2. Language requirements

  To apply for programs taught in Chinese, the HSK5 test score in the last two years should be above 180 points (HSK is exempted for those who have studied Chinese as their mother tongue or have obtained the certificate after completing the academic degree program in Chinese);

  For programs taught in English, one of the following requirements must be met:

  1. English is the mother tongue or official language;
  2. Ielts score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 80 or above in the past two years;
  3. Have obtained a diploma in an English-speaking country.

Foreign students of BJTU may apply for Chinese Government Scholarship, Beijing Municipal Scholarship for Foreign Students, BJTU Scholarship or Confucius Institute Scholarship before admission. After admission, students will still have the opportunity to apply for the scholarship for Foreign Students in Beijing and the Scholarship for Foreign Students in Beijing Jiaotong University based on their academic performance and other comprehensive performance.
